When our children get sick, the world stops. Every parent knows this feeling. For families navigating a child's serious illness that results in hospitalization, Ronald McDonald House Charities gives families one less thing to worry about: being nearby.

 

Since 1974, Ronald McDonald House has been giving families a safe, reliable, and CLOSE place to sleep, store belongings, shower, do laundry, take a break, and get back to their child as quickly as possible. And they don't charge families a dime for it.

 

That's where we (and you!) come in.

 

This January, we're lacing up our shoes and heading to Walt Disney World to take on Disney marathon weekend. Jen is running the full 26.2 miles, while Andrew and Sarah are conquering the half-marathon. We'll be pushing through the miles knowing that every step, every hill, every moment we want to quit is nothing compared to what the families supported by Ronald McDonald House face every single day.

 

Last year alone, RMHC kept families together for millions of nights they couldn't have afforded otherwise. Behind every one of those nights is a child fighting hard and parents who got to hold their hand through it.

 

We are running for those kids. We're running for those parents. And we need your help.

 

A donation of any size, $20, $50, $100, anything, directly supports a family that desperately needs it. Every dollar goes toward keeping a roof over a family's head while their child receives the care that could save their life.

    Minimum fundraising amounts vary according to the race entry secured on Team RMHC:

    *  Walt Disney World  5K - $750

    * Walt Disney World Half Marathon - $950

    * Walt Disney World Marathon - $1000

    * Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge ( includes both the Half Marathon and Full Marathon)- $1200

    * Dopey Challenge (includes the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Full Marathon)- $1400

    Fundraising deadlines:

    * 50% (per person) by August 3, 2026

    * Minimum fundraising amounts should be raised/turned in by December 1, 2026.

2027 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend

  • Already registered for the race(s) via runDisney® but still want to be part of Team RMHC?

    You can still be a part of Team RMHC - be a "Red Shoe" Participant!

    For a $30 registration fee, you will be included in all the Team RMHC activities, goodies, incentives and fundraising guidelines. Select "Red Shoe" participant in the registration process. (No race entry included.)

    By joining Team Ronald McDonald House - 2027 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend Charity Team for this race, you are personally pledging to raise the respective fundraising minimum per your race entry. If your minimum has not been met by December 1, 2026, Ronald McDonald House staff will contact you to confirm your qualified position on Team RMHC.

2027 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend Disclaimer

Registration Fees are not included in the Fundraising Minimum. Registration fees are paid to RMHC via the registration process. Your paid race registration with runDisney is GUARANTEED if your minimum fundraising requirement is met. Once you reach 50% in fundraising, you will be provided with a link to submit your information to runDisney®.

 

Deadlines must be met in order to receive all the Team RMHC benefits, along with your runDisney finalization link. As a member of Team RMHC, you are responsible for donating the difference between funds raised and the minimum due at each deadline. By reaching the fundraising minimum, you ensure that RMHC recovers the cost of your participation and maximizes direct funding for the families that we serve.

Teams: Please note that when registering as a team, the fundraising minimum grows with each team member. Example: Person one registers for the 5K and creates a team, Person Two joins that team also for the 5K, both team members have a minimum of $750 making the team goal $1500.

 

Refund Policy:

Registration fees non refundable

Any funds raised or donated by a participant that withdraws stay with RMHC.
